A burger or more prominently a hamburger is a main course dish which is very much popular across globe, the origin of this mouth watering dish has a great confliction where there are multiple claims made by several persons to be the man behind this idea . The claims are made by Louis Lassen, Charlie Nagren, Otto Kause, Oscar Weber Bilby, Frank and Charles Menches, Fletcher Davis. A hamburger can be prominently explained as a sandwich which consists of cooked patties (cutlet) of meat, usually beef or sometimes chicken as desired, varying in quantities like a single cutlet or a double patties (cutlet) placed inside a sliced bun. The hamburgers can be prepared in a variety of ways that may include pan-frying, barbecuing, and flame-broiling. Hamburgers are served with lettuce, pickles, cheese and bacons .

The hamburger name is believed to be taken from the city of Hamburg, Germans second largest city, some chains have started burger with chicken to serve as an alternate for beef because many people skip beef .The preparation below is of a chicken burger which can be prepared at home very easily and it will give an authentic taste of any burger chain.

Ingredients
Chicken minced – 500 grams
Onion- 1
Capsicum (bell pepper) – 1 optional
Salt – as per taste
Sugar 1 tea-spoon
Coriander seeds- 1 tea-spoon
Ginger grated – 1 table-spoon
Sesame seeds – 2 table-spoon
Lemon juice – ½ a table-spoon s
Green chills – 2
Cumin seeds – ½ a table-spoon
Spring onion- ½ cup
Mayonnaise – 2 table-spoon
Tomato sauce – 1 table-spoon
Burger bread (bun)- 4 pieces
lettuce / Cabbage leaves – 4 cleaned and soaked
Tomato – 1 (cut in round shape )
Cucumber – 4 slices (round in shape)

Method
1) Prepare fresh bread crumbs by putting the bread slices after removing the outer layer of it in the mixer grinder.

2) Take the chicken in a bowl then add all the ingredients sliced onion, capsicum, ginger grated, lemon juice, salt, sesame seeds , green chilies, spring onion and mix well.

3) Add the mayonnaise and again give it a mix.

4) Leave the mixture for around 10 minutes.

5) With the help of hand make a round shape balls and sprinkle a few drops of oil over it then allow it for rest of around 2 minutes.

6) Now try to press the chicken balls to give it a shape of complete flat circle.

7) In a pan pour some oil and then put the cutlet, the cutlet need not to kept for a long time as it may loose its water content and became complete dry.

8) Keep the cutlet on the pan until both sides of it turns brown.

9) Take the burger bread (bun) and divide it from the middle so as to make 2 circles one as base and other as top.

10) Apply few drops of oil and fry the inside surface of the breads (bun).

For the garnishing
11) Mix the mayonnaise and the tomato sauce in a bowl, then apply over the inside surface of the bread (bun).

12) Put the lettuce leaves then add the tomatoes and cucumber over it.

13) Spread a layer of mayonnaise over the tomatoes and cucumber, now put the cutlet to it and then close the burger with the top part of the bread (bun).

14) The burger is ready to gorged now , it can be further served with a tomato sauce or any other sauce if desired.
