Authentic Restaurant style Butter Chicken (Murg Makhani) Recipe
Butter chicken also known as Murg makhani derived its name from Punjab from where the dish got its flavor enhanced. The dish was originally developed in Motimahal restaurant in Delhi. This is one of the items that is served as the specialized Indian delicacy across globe.
Sometimes we fail in getting the authentic restaurant style taste, but following the below steps would give the exact relish for the tastebuds.
The whole step is divided into
Ingredients for tandoori masala
-Red chili powder 1 table-spoon
-salt – as per taste
-Turmeric – 1 table-spoon
-cumin (Jeera) – 1 table-spoon
-Kali mirchi – 4
-choti elaichi – 4 cloves
-cinnamom stick – 1 medium
-Dry ginger – 1 whole of medium size
-Home made garam masala – 2 table-spoon
-Garlic powder – 1 table-spoon
-Ginger powder – 1 table-spoon
-Mix all the above ingredients in the mixer grinder
For the chicken marination
-Oil 1 tablespoon
-Butter – 2 table-spoons
-Chicken -500gms
-curd – 1 small cup
-tandoori masala – 2 tablespoons
Procedure for the chicken marination
-Take a bowl and pour 2 table-spoon oil
-Put the chicken pieces and add curd (dahi)
-Now add the tandoori masala and mix well and keep it for 1 hour.
For frying the chicken
-Keep a pan over the oven and pour 2 table spoon of oil
-Put the marinated chicken and fry
-Turn the chicken in a sequence so that it turns golden brown.
For the Makhani
Ingredients
-Red tomatoes 1 kg
-Onion – 4 big size
-Oil 1 table-spoons
-Butter 75 gms
-Red chili powder
-Green cardamom 8 cloves
-Garlic chopped – 2 tablespoon
-Ginger 1 medium size
-Green chili 6-7
-Cinnamom – 1 medium size
-Bay leaf – 3 leaves
-Cream – 1 cup
-coriander leaves – 6-8 leaves (for garnishing)
Method
-Take a pan pour oil and add the butter
-Put the cardamom ,cinnamom stick and bay leaf
-Put the onion and red chili powder and green chilies
-Slowly add the garlic and ginger and stir well
-Cut the tomatoes into small pieces and grind them in the mixer to make a paste
-Now apply the paste in the pan and add cream 1 cup
-Mix the tomatoes and put 2 tablespoon of tandoori masala
-Not add the chicken and mix well
-Apply salt to taste
-Additionally ,put 1 spoon of sugar as the tomatoes might bring a sour taste
-On the top add 50 gms of butter
-Keep it for around 10 minutes to get the complete rich texture of tomatoes
Now bring out the butter chicken in a bowl also put the coriander leaves and add a big slice of butter as the name suggests, butter chicken
Its now ready to give the authentic and classic flavour of restaurant while sitting at home.
