“Singapore Chili Crabs or Crab with Sweet & Spicy Chili Sauce Recipe” the nomenclature is done not over any specific type of crab but over the twist in taste and spice combination. Crab is a vital source of vitamins and minerals that helps in regaining the vision, further it’s a rich source of Vitamin B12 and Sodium, which are very much essentials for the human body.

Singapore Chili Crabs Recipe

Ingredients for making the sauce
Tomato sauce- 2 table spoon
Soy sauce – 1 table spoon
Oyster sauce – 1 table spoon
Tamarind paste – ½ tea spoon
Chili sauce – 1 table spoon
Fish sauce (optional) – 1 table spoon
Egg – 1
Coriander powder – 1 table spoon
Crab stock or chicken broth – ½ cup

Method
1) In a bowl, add the above ingredients and mix them well to as to give a light brown texture.

2) Take a wisk and mix them togeather.

Ingredients
Crab – 500 gms (1 ½ Pound)
Oil – 2 table spoon
Garlic – 1 table spoon
Ginger – 1 table spoon
Onion – 1 small size (finely chopped)

Method
1) Break the crab into small pieces or chop them with a sharp knife, then boil them for around 15 minutes.

2) In a pan pour oil and and add chopped onion, minced ginger, garlic and diced green chilies, fry them on medium-high heat for around 2 minutes, till onion and garlic turn translucent (Do not brown).

3) Add the crabs, shake them well and further cook by covering the lid for 3 minutes.

4) Lower the heat to medium and add the sauce, mix them for around a couple of minutes and cook until sauce thickens and coats the crab.

5) Put some coriander leaves and green onions to give the finishing touch and pleasant aroma from them.

6) The dish is ready and can be tried with rice or bread.

Note – Beat the skin of the crab of all pieces so that the sauce can go inside it.
