“Possession you own today, is the result of efforts made by millions.”

Time waits for none, days passby, but there come some remarkable days in the life of the person which holds many memories. Those days have their own significance, and must be acknowledged because they gift us with an unending joy for the rest of our lives. One such day in the American history is 4^th July. The day with a historical significance which needs to be cherished forever and ever.

“Boldly they rose, the freely we live now.”

 A day, which gave us the possession of our country, a day which made us free and today we can proudly shout aloud, yeah! This is my country. When we sing our national anthem, we get goosebumps reminding us of those people who fought for us, and those words fill us with pride.

“How proud we feel today is tough to describe in words.”

It’s time to acknowledge the efforts of the people of those 13 colonies who showed their immense strength and came forward in order to end up the chains of exploitation, which was put on them by British. These 13 colonies united together, struggled and declared themselves to be the states of a new nation. For years long, the colonies were under the rule of British who had been in this continent since 1587. Everything was in peace, but for how long? At last, those British people started exploiting the natural resources, every day one or the other complaint rose out.

“How dominance ruled out everything.”

 Finally in 1765, the settlers asked for, “no taxation without representation”, they wanted their voice to be a part in the parliament. The unity of the settlers outweighed everything. And result of this protest, their strong strength, a meeting was held by the Continental Congress- there came delegates of thirteen colonies and finally in their second meeting they decided to declare a war against the British in 1775.

“Revolutionary war which ended lives of billions of hearts, in return filled our lives with happy hearts.”

The legal separation was done on 2^nd July, but the left over proceedings and document signing completion, took a time of two more days. Thus 4^th July, – became the Independence Day.  And the declaration was signed by 56 representatives from 13 states, the declaration was drafted by the founding father- Thomas Jefferson. This big event needs to be celebrated and remembered every year. The very first celebration of this grand day took place in Rhode Island on 4^th July, 1777, with a grand salute of a set of 13 gunshots.

Result of so much hard work is,we are free today. We have got power of expression, this freedom is what our ancestors gifted to us. And we need to acknowledge their efforts, and pass this information to our coming generations. This day is marked as a national holiday, where the citizens enjoy to their best. Fireworks are done in almost every city. Families celebrate, competitions are organized like watermelon, hotdog eating. Even sports events are held, such as three legged race, swimming, baseball and many more. Everything is done to bring smiles on the faces of the citizens. This celebration brings positivity and leaves us afresh how lucky we are that we are able to enjoy these beautiful moments. Every government office is closed; on the top of buildings, houses, flags are displayed. Parties are organized, celebrations are done, dress yourself to the best and better than the rest, wear the hats red, white and blue in order to unite with everyone. Just rejoice every moment freely, because this is the day we got the possession of our nation.

This day makes us so lively and fills in us the pride. This is the day which marks the BIRTH OF AMERICA, our free nation. Our day of independence. A grand salute to our nation.
