   जागतिक व्याघ्रदिन
   महाराष्ट्राचे व्याघ्र वैभव
   नुकताच जागतिक व्याघ्र दिन साजरा झाला. महाराष्ट्रात सहा व्याघ्र प्रकल्प आहेत. या प्रकल्पांची माहिती देश-विदेशी पर्यटकांपर्यंत पोहोचावी, लोकांमध्ये जनजागृती होऊन व्याघ्र संवर्धनास चालना मिळावी आणि महाराष्ट्राचे हे व्याघ्र वैभव आंतरराष्ट्रीय पातळीवर पोहोचावे या उद्देशाने मंत्रालयात एक दिवसीय प्रदर्शनाचे आयोजन करण्यात आले आहे. दिनांक ४ ऑगस्ट २०१५ रोजी मंत्रालयात तळमजल्यावर आयोजित होणाऱ्या या माहिती प्रदर्शनाचे उद्घाटन मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्र फडणवीस यांच्या हस्ते होणार आहे. कार्यक्रमास वने मंत्री सुधीर मुनगंटीवार आणि पर्यटन राज्यमंत्री राम शिंदे यांची प्रमुख उपस्थिती राहील. या प्रदर्शनाच्या निमित्ताने राज्यातील व्याघ्र संवर्धन कार्यक्रमाचा घेतलेला हा आढावा…
   भारताने व्याघ्र संवर्धनच्या क्षेत्रात भरीव कामगिरी केली आहे.
   भारतात १९७३ साली व्याघ्र प्रकल्पाची सुरुवात झाली. त्यावेळी देशात ९ व्याघ्र प्रकल्प होते. आता त्याची संख्या ३८ वर गेली आहे. नॅशनल टायगर कॉन्झरवेशन ॲथॉरिटीमुळे गेल्या दहा वर्षात वाघांची संख्या वाढण्याबरोबरच त्यांची माहिती संकलन करण्यात (डॉक्युमेंटेशन) ही आपला देश पुढे आहे.
   स्टेटस् ऑफ टायगर्स इन इंडिया च्या अहवालानुसार देशात २००६ साली सुमारे १४११ च्या आसपास असलेली देशातील वाघांची संख्या २०१० साली १७०६ तर आज २०१४ साली झालेल्या सर्वेक्षणात ती २२२६ इतकी झाली आहे. वाघांची संख्या वाढणे हे एक प्रकारे चांगल्या वनसंवर्धनाचे द्योतक आहे. कारण वाघांची चांगली संख्या असण्यासाठी त्यांचा नैसर्गिक अधिवास उत्तम असणे आवश्यक आहे. म्हणजेच वाघांसाठी चांगले अन्न, निवारा असलेले जंगल असणे आवश्यक आहे. व्याघ्र संख्येमध्ये महाराष्ट्र देशात पाचव्या क्रमांकावर आहे.
   केंद्र शासनाच्या याच अहवालानुसार महाराष्ट्रात २००६ साली १०३, २०१० साली १६९ आणि २०१४ साली झालेल्या सर्वेक्षणात सरासरी १९० वाघांचे अस्तित्व आढळून आल्याची नोंद आहे. व्याघ्र रक्षणासाठी महाराष्ट्रात विशेष व्याघ्र दलाची स्थापना करण्यात आली आहे. या दलाकडून व्याघ्र संरक्षणाचे काम अत्यंत जबाबदारीने पार पाडण्यात येत आहे. याशिवाय वनाधिकाऱ्यांना शस्त्र परवाने, व्याघ्र प्रकल्पात वायरलेस सेट देण्यात आले आहेत तर काही ठिकाणी सीसीटीव्ही कॅमेरे बसवण्याची व्यवस्था करण्यात येत आहे.

   Global Tiger Day, often called International Tiger Day, is an annual celebration to raise awareness for tiger conservation, held annually on 29 July.[1] It was created in 2010 at the Saint Petersburg Tiger Summit.[2] The goal of the day is to promote a global system for protecting the natural habitats of tigers and to raise public awareness and support for tiger conservation issues.[3]
   The tiger is the largest of the world’s big cats and this magnificent creature, with its distinctive orange and black stripes and beautifully marked face, has a day that is dedicated to it. This was first celebrated in 2010 and was founded at an international summit that had been called in response to the shocking news that 97% of all wild tigers had disappeared in the last century, with only around 3,000 left alive. Tigers are on the brink of extinction and International World Tiger Day aims to bring attention to this fact and try to halt their decline. Many factors have caused their numbers to fall, including habitat loss, climate change, hunting and poaching and Tiger Day aims to protect and expand their habitats and raise awareness of the need for conservation. Many international organizations are involved in the day, including the WWF, the IFAW and the Smithsonian Institute.
