Keyboards come in all sort of colors and can have more buttons than you know what to do with. Yet, look closely you’ll notice that every keyboard has one – or actually two little features you may not have noticed. Look at the ‘F’ and ‘J’ key and you’ll see little bumps one each.

What’s the exact reason?

These bumps on keys was invented by June E Botich to increase the speed and accuracy. These little features are actually meant to help users, correctly position their hands without having to look down at the keyboard. With your index fingers on the two ridged keys – your left hand covers A,S, D and F while the right covers J,K,L and colon.
