Black n White Shih Tzu face is a picture of my beloved little boy Scooter #14..a two time cancer survivor that died at just over 16yrs of age. He went everywhere with me and never realized he was little. Scooter was always up for new adventures, and filled my life everyday with laughs and giggles.
I now have a little girl Shih Tzu named Jasmin and wish I could share a picture or two of her here.
I lost my little guy Bailey from lymphoma December 29th 2018. I had to have him euthanized and it was the worst day of my life. He was only twelve and it was too soon to lose him.He was unique, aloof and very much his own man. He was sitting on the back of the couch when I came home one day about a year ago and he was looking at me as I slung my jacket over the banister, just an ordinary look, when all of a sudden his expression changed to pure love, all from his eyes, and he wagged his tail slowly. He never wagged his tail.I was awed. Not long after that it happened again. I think it was just about the time when he felt something happening to his body. He had to lie on a hard surface to get comfortable. I thought it was just age but when I discovered cysts on his neck I took him in and he was diagnosed. He was put on prednisone and lived a good quality of life for about five months until everything just went bad and he looked at me with the saddest eyes and asked me to help him. The pain of losing him has been excruciating and I am only now being able to accept it. I loved him as an equal and admired and respected him immensely. He was courageous and patient and loving in his little man way. He had to be with me but had to have his space. No lap dog he. I asked God to send me assurance he was ok and happy where he was if life went on. I was awakened from a dream one night by Bailey’s insistent bark and I awoke to what I had been dreaming. A ‘ voice ‘ told me to trust God. Without Bailey waking me I would not have been aware of the message with regard to him. I was to trust God that he was okay and happy. I have loved that little guy as much as I have loved anyone in this world and maybe more. I miss him terribly.
